AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL FLAG DAY 3 SEPTEMBER 2005
It is an honour to be invited to send a message of support for Australian National Flag Day.The Australian Flag is a symbol of our heritage, identity and pride in our nation, and ha srepresented freedom, hope and loyalty since 1901.
Whenever ADF servicemen and women see our flag, it reminds us of our duty to serve our nation, and to protect it and the Australian people from harm. It also serves as a reminder of those who have gone before us, who served and sacrificed for our nation, and in whose footsteps we now walk.
It is very important to celebrate our National Flag and pay respect to everything it represents.
I wish you every success in your National Flag Day celebrations. Thank you for the opportunity to contribute to this ceremony of national significance.
