The Australian Flag has over the years become a true symbol of our nation’s diversity and multiculturalism. Australians around the world have been proud to fly it at times of great success or in adversity.
On this, the 103rd anniversary of the first raising of the Australian National Flag, it is important that this occasion be celebrated across the country.
We need institutions that bring us together as Australians, institutions that foster the shared values and aspirations of a good society. We have our flag which we salute on this occasion. We have our national anthem which we sing with pride. And we have citizenship,
