Flag Day across Queensland – Flag Day September 3rd 2005

By the time you receive this newsletter, Australian National Flag Day will be fast approaching. ANFA branches and supporters across the country will be working hard to make the day a success.

Here is what is planned for Queensland:

Brisbane – King George Square 2.30am
SPECIAL GUEST: THE PREMIER OF QUEENSLAND, THE HON PETER BEATTIE MP
We are delighted to announce that our special guest at the service on Saturday 3 September will be the Premier of Queensland the Hon Peter Beattie MP.

Our traditional flag raising ceremony will take place in King George Square at 10.30am – guests are invited to arrive from 10.00am to enjoy music provided by the Royal Australian Navy Band.

The colour party for the flag raising will be provided by Australian Army personnel from 7th Combat Services Support Battalion (Enoggera).

There is no shade in the square, so don’t forget a hat and sunscreen – in the case of rain the service will take place in City Hall.

All are welcome at this event, so please invite anybody you know who may be interested.
